On the 22/6 3rd and 4th class went on their
school tour to Lough Key forest park. We left at 8:50 and arrived at 10:30.
We had a small snack and then got a tour of the grounds where we were told all the
local history by the guide. We walked to the top of a very high tower and had a
scenic view of the surroundings. We got to walk on a rope bridge 10 metres
above the ground and view the flora and fauna from different perspectives. We
had some lunch and that’s when the fun began. We got into our groups and moved
into the 'Escape Rooms'. There was a mix of mental, physical and puzzle
challenges. There was great teamwork and ingenuity used working out the escape
routes. Afterwards we finished our lunch and went to the shop to get a few treats.
We stopped in Boyle on the way home and Miss Giblin surprised us by giving
everyone an ice-cream as a treat from the school. The parents were waiting
eagerly for our arrival home at half 5. Massive thanks to Tobias, the bus
driver for being so patient and helpful on the tour. Thanks also to Shauna and
Regina for accompanying us on the tour. We hope that you enjoyed the day as
much as we did. Well done to everyone on a great day out.
